What
Is A Density Series 1220 System? A Density system is
fundamentally three parts, standard Intel®-based computers, a
fault-tolerant chassis to host the
computers and management/control software.
Part
1 Server Blade System
Cubix server blades are configured as any other
industry standard, standalone servers. They
have Intel processors, ECC SDRAM, SCSI and/or ATA
drives, dual Ethernet ports, COM Ports, USB and
PCI bus expansion. They are compatible with
Microsoft, Linux and other popular operating
systems.

Part 2
Rackmount
Chassis
Multiple Cubix server blades (as many as 8
blades) are packaged in a Density chassis.
The blades are completely independent of one
another in regards to power and I/O
connections. But they do share Density
chassis' n+1 redundant power supplies, built-in
K/V/M switch, floppy drive and switched CD-ROM
drive. This saves space, lowers costs,
reduces power requirements and improves
availability with fault tolerant features.
