This section gives you information
on the status of Olivetti EuroComputers products for the Year 2000. Look
through the table to find the name of your model and the BIOS version
that has been tested. Consult
our Customer
solutions
page for further Year 2000 details.
Reading
the Product Compliance table
-
Notebook/PC/Server:
The product name is given in the first field of the table. It will
be a notebook, a PC or a server.
BIOS version:
this is the number of the BIOS version that has been tested. All later
versions have, therefore, at least the same status as this BIOS.
Test
date: the approval date of the BIOS version that has been tested.
This field may not always be filled in, in which case the BIOS version
number is the reference to use.
Status:
There are three possible values for this field:
- NSTL
These products have been
tested by NSTL using the YMARK2000 test, and have been found to meet
the NSTL test standards for Year 2000 hardware compliance.
- NSTL
comp. These products
have been tested in-house, using NSTL's YMARK2000 test under NSTL's
self-testing program, and have been found to meet NSTL's test standards
for Year 2000 hardware compliance.
- Y2K
ready These products
are able to correctly memorise the Year 2000 date, but they cannot automatically
handle the transition from 1999 to 2000.

To
check the BIOS version of your computer ...
Switch your computer
on and watch the screen carefully. The BIOS version number is displayed
during the power-on diagnostics tests, usually towards the top of
the screen. Make a note of the number as it remains on the screen
only for about one minute, and there is no other way of seeing it
other than switching the computer on. |
You can't
find your model in these tables ?
If your computer is not included
in this table this does not necessarily mean that it is not Year 2000
compliant. To check, you can run NSTL's YMARK2000 utility yourself, and
it will tell you whether your computer will be able to handle the date
in the new Millennium. The YMARK2000 utility can be downloaded, free of
charge, from the NSTL
YMARK2000 web page. Consult our Customer
