DP 6200 Series
Plug-in Computers
Overview
DP Series plug-in computers plug into Cubix passive backplanes that are divided into independent groups, allowing the installation of multiple DP Series boards in a single Cubix PowerSMP System.
Each Cubix dual-SMP server consists of a set of two plug-in boardsa processor board and an I/O board. The processor board contains two Intel® Pentium® Pro processors, memory, and EIDE controllers. The I/O board is tightly coupled to the processor board across a 32-bit bus. The I/O board provides a single SCSI controller and a single 10/100Mbps Ethernet controller.

When installed in the passive backplane of a Cubix PowerSMP chassis, each DP board set is a fully featured dual-Pentium Pro SMP server. The System multiplexor allows multiple DP Series boards in a system (or multiple systems) to share a single floppy disk drive, monitor, keyboard and mouse.
DP Series board sets include on-board video, two serial ports, one parallel port, keyboard and mouse support, memory, floppy and IDE hard drive support. Also included is an integrated Ethernet controller with a 10/100 Base-T connector, and a SCSI fast/wide (single-ended) interface.
The DP 6200 board set plugs into the passive backplane of Cubix's PowerSMP chassis. PowerSMP provides the same fault-tolerant and management features of ERS/FT II but also allows configuration of SMP servers. PowerSMP Series 5000 supports two DP 6200 servers and a single BC Series server.Software
Installation software is provided by Cubix that allows multiplexing a mouse on multiple DP Series computers, and includes files needed for supporting the boards under CMS, BCVision, and GlobalVision.
Note: To share a mouse between DP Series computers, you must use a Logitech compatible mouse, and install the Cubix mouse driver on each DP Series board installed in the system. Mouse drivers are available on the DP Series Installation diskette for DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows.
