Configuration #1 - DNS Services Only
A primary server contains the authoritative
information about a domain. Its job is to
increment the serial field in the Start of
Authority (SOA) record to signal to secondary
servers that the data has changed. Two secondary
servers are set up to load-balance the queries,
aiding performance and offering high
availability. Three Cubix server blades are
packaged in a single 5U Multi Server Appliance
300 chassis. The blades are completely
independent of one another in regards to power
and I/O connections, but they do share redundant
power supplies, built-in K/V/M switch, and
switched CD-ROM drive. This saves space,
lowers costs, reduces power requirements and
improves availability with fault tolerant
features.
