IES Data Highway Adapter Switch Setting

The IES Data highway adapter for the BC Supervisor is a small printed circuit board with IES IN and OUT connectors, and a switch for terminating the IES. The board connects to the COM2 port on the top of the BC Supervisor board with a ribbon cable.

Address Setting

There is no address selection on the adapter. It defaults to address 0, which is reserved for the BC Supervisor.

Termination

If the BC Supervisor will be at either end of the data hghway cable, set switch 2 on the adapter to ON (towards the board).

If the BC Supervisor is not at the end of the data highway cable, set switch 2 to OFF (away from the board).

Connecting the Data Highway Cable

• After setting the termination switch, connect the data highway cable to the RJ-11 connectors on the rear of the adapter (it does not matter which one).
