OLIVETTI Computers Worldwide December 23, 1997 S3 GALILEO UTILITY FOR WINDOWS 3.1X Ver.1.01 OBJECT: Instruction to use file s3gal101.zip ================================================================== 1)Format a 1.44 MB diskette in your own PC with /s option, to transfer MS DOS (ver.6.2x) to floppy. 2)Copy the *.zip file to the temporary directory on the HDU. 3)Unzip the *.zip file with the appropriate zip program. 4)Copy the structure to the diskette. 5)Load the driver from the related O.S. ================================================================== WxW - VIDEO FEATURES SETTING -------------------------------------------------------------------- Galileo Utility provides the monitor setting feature. Instruction to install the Galileo Utility: 1. Install the computer following the User Guide instruction. 2. Install the preloaded SW following the SW User Guide instruction. 3. Create copy on diskettes of both O.S. and Video Drivers. 4. Insert Galileo Utility diskette in unit "A" 5. In File Manager, run SETUP.EXE from diskette. 6. Click CONTINUE when asked. Galileo will be installed on HDU and a new group Galileo will be added into Program Manager. How to set the monitor feature: 1. Run Galileo from Galileo Group. 2. Click Select Monitor Type button. 3. Select the right monitor from the list. 4. Select color depth from Color Palette. 5. Select resolution from Desk Top field. 6. Set vertical frequency from Refresh Rate menu. 7. Click OK. 8. Save the setting then follow the instruction on the screen: depending on the chosen configuration, the program may ask to insert the Video Driver diskette. Insert the diskettes on floppy unit in sequence until the correct driver will be detected. Where needed, you will be asked to insert the O.S. diskettes. 9. At the end of video driver installation, you may be asked to reboot Windows. Click Yes. Windows will be closed. When using national keyboard layout different that USA or UK, Windows could not restart. 10. Check if the Galileo diskette is inserted in the floppy unit, then type a:\patchevd and Enter. 11. At the end of the program, type Win then Enter. Now the video will be configured following your setting.
