dac960fl.exe  -  DOS program for firmware upgrade
fwpdmlml.263 -  binary file contains the firmware code

This release files,fwpdmlml.263,of firmware version 2.63,are only supported 
on models DACPU / DACPD / DACP only. DO NOT FLASH THIS FIRMWARE ON MODEL DAC960-PL.


** WARNING : IT IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED TO BACKUP YOUR DATA BEFORE ANY
	     UPGRADE IS PERFORMED, UNEXPECTED LOSS OF DATA IS POSSIBLE
				   
   This firmware code is for DAC960PDU / DAC960PD / DAC960P-MY3 models 
   ( has 1 EEPROM chips) controller ONLY. DO NOT USE on -MY4 models 
   ( HAS 2 EEPROM CHIPS) or in any OEM version of the controllers. 
	     
   Flashing the wrong firmware binary file will prevent the controller 
   from functioning and will require to return the controller to the 
   factory for repair.

UPGRADE procedure :

	Upgrade the firmware using the firmware flash utility DAC960FL.EXE 
	and appropriate firmware file under DOS. Make sure clean boot DOS 
	from floppy disk ( not inside Win95/NT DOS Windows ) and run the 
	upgrade program from diskette.

firmware and BIOS are programmed at the same time 

Old firmware version 2.60 bugs on using RAID-5 :
It is recommended that all customers upgrade their DAC960-PDU version 2.60 
firmware to version 2.63. Also, as an added precaution, consistency check, 
with the restore option, should be run on all RAID 5 system drives.  This 
function is available under the DOS daccf.exe configuration utility or 
supported OS dacadm utilities .
