Description:

The 7470A was the world's first small format paper-moving plotter. Previous plotters held the paper still while a mechanical arm held a pen to draw a 2-dimensional image. The advantages of the paper-moving technology were: lower costs due to fewer mechanical parts, higher speed due to the much lower inertia of the moving parts, and smaller size. The 7470A was a two pen plotter that plotted on A4-size media. It offered three interfaces: HP-IB, RS-232-C and HP-IL (for connection to HP handheld computers). The 7470A replaced the 7225A.
