How to Change Your Password

Occasionally you may be required to change the password used to access the WorldDesk cluster. If you have installed the remote node dial-in client, you must be connected to a WorldDesk cluster in order to change your password. If you are a dial-out client, you may change your password anytime a WorldDesk cluster in your home cluster is available. To do this, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Windows 95 Task Bar click on the Start button. From the menu, select Run and type the drive and directory in which the WorldDesk client software resides, followed by \WDPWD32. For example, if the client software resides in "C:\WD" type C:\WD\WDPWD32. The following appears on the screen:

Username: The name you use to log in to a WorldDesk cluster.

Cluster Name: The WorldDesk cluster you use.

Old Password: The password you currently use to log in to a WorldDesk cluster.

New Password: The new password you would like to use to log in to a WorldDesk cluster.

Confirm: Same as the "New Password" field.

  1. Type the required information, pressing the Tab key to move to the next field. When finished, click on OK.
