A 350 watt switching power supply is located on the right side of the Tower in the power supply bay.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Disconnect the power cord from the Tower.
2. Remove the top and right side covers.
3. Rotate the two quarter turn fasteners counter clockwise to release the power supply cover. Note the orientation of the air inlet louvers.
4. Loosen the three screws to disconnect the three A.C. input wires at the bottom of the power supply.
a. BLUE from Neutral.
b. BROWN from Line.
c. GREEN/YELLOW from Ground.
5. Loosen the twelve screws to disconnect the D.C. output wires at the top of the supply.

l. GREEN Jumper from V4+
6. Remove the four screws securing the power supply mounting plate to the Tower chassis. Remove the power supply and mounting plate.
7. Remove the four screws securing the power supply mounting plate to the back side of the power supply heat sink.
8. Attach the power supply mounting plate to the replacement power supply. Follow the instructions in reverse order to reassemble.
The LCS Tower contains a passive 16-slot ISA or combination EISA/ISA compatible backplane.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Remove power from the LCS Tower.
2. Carefully disconnect all cables from all installed boards.
3. Note the location of each board, and remove all boards from the backplane.
4. Remove the nine power supply leads from the backplane by loosening the nine securing screws. Be sure to note which lead is connected to which screw.
5. Disconnect the cable to the power distribution panel.
6. The EISA/ISA backplane residing in the Tower Server is secured with fifteen screws. The ISA backplane residing in all other Tower configurations is secured with ten screws. Remove the screws securing the backplane to the Tower.
7. Remove the backplane.
8. Replace the backplane and reassemble in reverse order. Take care to replace the boards and wiring exactly as they were installed in the original backplane. When reinstalling the ground screws, apply pressure to assure a solid ground connection is established.
The LCS Tower contains three front fans, one power supply fan, and one rear panel fan. The replacement procedure for each fan is documented below.
Front Fans
Three 60mm fans behind the front cover of the Tower provide correct airflow to cool the processor bay.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Disconnect power from the Tower.
2. Remove the top and left side covers.
3. Remove the two screws near the top of the Tower securing the front cover panel. Lift the front cover panel up and remove it.
4. Disconnect the front fan power harness plug from the top front edge of the segmented backplane in the processor bay.
5. Remove the four screws securing the front fan mounting bracket. Remove the bracket and fans.
6. Disconnect the desired fan plug from the front fan power harness.
7. Remove the four screws and nuts securing the desired fan and finger guard to the front fan mounting bracket. Remove the fan.
8. Install the new fan and reassemble in reverse order.
Power Supply Fan
One 80mm fan mounted in the disk drive bay provides cooling for the switching power supply.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Disconnect power from the Tower.
2. Remove the top and right side covers.
3. Disconnect the power supply fan from the power distribution panel.
4. Remove the screws and nuts securing the fan and finger guard to the chassis.
5. Install the new fan and reassemble in reverse order.
Rear Panel Fan
One 120mm fan located on the upper rear panel of the Tower provides cooling for the overall Tower.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Disconnect power from the Tower.
2. Remove the top and right side covers.
3. Disconnect the rear panel fan from the power distribution panel.
4. Remove the screws and nuts securing the fan and finger guard to the chassis.
5. Install the new fan and reassemble in reverse order.
The eight channel video/keyboard multiplexor is mounted on the underside of the multiplexor support bracket located at the top of the Tower.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Disconnect the power cord from the Tower.
2. Remove the top, left and right side covers.
3. Remove all of the 14 pin ribbon cables attached to the multiplexor assembly.
4. Disconnect the key lock cable from the multiplexor.
5. Remove the four screws located on the underside of the multiplexor assembly securing the multiplexor to the multiplexor bracket.
6. Remove and replace the video/keyboard multiplexor assembly. Reassemble in reverse order.
Four AA batteries provide backup power for non-volatile memory on each installed Cubix processor board. These batteries are located at the left rear of the panel separating the processor bay from the disk drive bay.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Remove the top and left side covers.
2. Remove the two screws securing the battery cover.
3. Remove the battery cover.
4. Remove the existing batteries. Insert the new batteries, orienting them as indicated on the battery holder.
5. Reassemble in reverse order.
6. Run the processor setup program for each BC Series processor installed in the Tower, selecting the options required for the specific installation.
