What
Is A Density Series 1220 System?
A Density Series 1220 system is fundamentally a
combination of standard Intel®
Pentium® III single-processor blade computers
hosted in a fault-tolerant, rackmounted chassis.
Cubix server blades are configured as other
industry standard, standalone servers. They have
Intel processors, ECC SDRAM, hard drives, dual
Ethernet ports, COM Ports, USB, PCI and/or ISA
bus expansion. They are compatible with
Microsoft, Linux and other popular operating
systems. Multiple Cubix server
blades (as many as 8 blades) are packaged in a
single Density Series 1220 chassis. The
blades are completely independent of one another
in regards to power and I/O connections, but they
do share Density chassis' n+1 redundant power
supplies, built-in K/V/M switch, floppy drive and
switched CD-ROM drive. This saves space,
lowers costs, reduces power requirements and
improves availability with fault tolerant
features.
