What are Cubix Plug-in Computers?

The Density System has the capability to hold up to eight individual computers. Each computer consists of a single circuit board (CP or SP Series) or dual circuit boards (DP Series) that plug into the backplane of the Density System. The backplane is divided into "groups". Each Group is electronically independent, and can be powered on or off, or reset from controls on the Density Systems front panel.

Each plug-in computer contains all the functions you would normally find in a standard desktop computer, such as video, IDE and SCSI, and floppy drive support, Ethernet 10/100 Base-t, and serial and parallel ports.

There are two different models of plug-in computers available for the Density Systems.

Terminolgy - The CP, DP and SP Series boards are ofen referred to as: single board computers, processor boards, bus controllers, motherboards, and plug-in computers.
