and How to Identify the Different Models
The ERS/FT II System has the capability to hold up to eight individual computers. Each computer consists of a BC Series single board computer (or DP Series Dual-SMP boards in the PowerSMP or Remote/IS System) that plug into the backplane of the ERS/FT II System. The backplane is divided into "groups". Each Group is electronically independent, and can be powered on or off, or reset from controls on the systems front panel.
Each plug-in computer contains all the functions you would normally find in a standard desktop computer, such as video, IDE and SCSI, and floppy drive support, Ethernet 10/100 Base-t, and serial and parallel ports.
There are two different models of plug-in computers available for the ERS/FT II Systems.

Terminolgy - The DP and BC Series boards are ofen referred to as: single board
computers, processor boards, bus controllers, motherboards, and plug-in computers.
