    Power Supply

If a problem is suspected with the power supply in the Cubix Resource Subsystem, use a voltmeter to check the voltages on the terminal strip on the backplane. Figure 4-1 shows the voltages present. If the voltages are not correct, contact Cubix Customer Service.

! Voltages are referenced to Ground (pin 4, 5, or 6).

All voltages within a range of plus or minus 5% are acceptable. The -5 VDC is acceptable within a plus or minus 10% range.

    Thermal Sensor

The thermal sensor monitors the temperature in the power supply bay. If it detects an abnormally high temperature, it will function as a circuit breaker and turn off power to the subsystem. If this happens, reset the thermal breaker by pressing the thermal sensor using a pointed device such as a pen. Check the operation of all the system fans. Insure that none of the cooling vents are blocked.
