BIOS Postcodes As the system BIOS proceeds through its Power On System Test (POST), it displays an incrementing binary coded hexadecimal value using LEDs on the board (see drawing on the right). If Post detects an error condition and comes to a halt, the LEDs display a value indicating the functions currently under test. These codes can be used to troubleshoot a malfunctioning board. To find the description of a post code, click in each box below where the LED is ON. Then click the Query button to see the resulting description.
