High-Speed Interface Boards

Expansion Subsystem

The Expansion Subsystem High-speed Interface board (A2770) is an extension of the host computer's bus. It runs with a 10 MHz or slower AT bus.

Figure 2-1 shows the Expansion Subsystem High-speed Interface board.

File Server

The file server high-speed interface board (A2760) serves as the host computer's link to the Expansion Subsystem. It should be connected in the slot on the end nearest the location of the Expansion Subsystem. If more than one Expansion Subsystem is used, install the file server interface boards in adjacent 16-bit host computer slots.

Jumper block JP1 is shipped with no jumper connections. JP1 enables the floppy disk DMA request 2 on the Expansion Subsystem. To install a floppy disk controller in the Expansion Subsystem, connect pins 0 and 1. Be aware that this configuration is not recommended. Figure 2-2 shows the File Server High-speed Interface board.
