Introduction to SafeStor/FT II

SafeStor/FT II provides high-capacity, fault-tolerant, remotely manageable data storage for rackmounted ERS/FT II servers and third-party rackmount server systems. SafeStor/FT II is RAID ready and provides external drive storage for up to two servers. Connected to a Cubix RAID controller, SafeStor/FT II is the ideal storage platform for mission-critical file servers, SQL servers, and specialized network servers.

SafeStor/FT II is available in a 2x6 SCSI backplane configuration—two groups of six drive bays—making it an ideal configuration for disk duplexing or separate storage for two different servers. Drives, available in 1.1, 2.1, and 4.2 GBytes, provide a maximum of 25.2 GBytes storage per chassis and support Fast or Fast/Wide controllers.

SafeStor/FT II's hot-swappable drives, power supplies, and Intelligent Environmental Sensor—all accessible from the front panel—feature key locks to prevent unauthorized removal.

Cabling and hot-swappable cooling fans are accessible from the rear of the chassis. In addition to redundant power supplies and cooling fans, SafeStor/FT II provides dual AC power inputs for use with redundant uninterruptible power supplies. The front panel of SafeStor/FT II displays status of power supplies, cooling fans and IES, as well as chassis temperature and voltage.
