Why Cubix’s Density™ System for Multiple Server Projects

The Cubix Density™ system is the ideal building block for deploying multiple Internet server systems. Density features an award winning blade architecture that enhances a solutions fault-tolerance, scaleability, and redundancy. The Density is flexible, saves space, SNMP managed, and cost significantly less than an equivalent number of  stand-alone servers.
Scalability - Adding incremental capacity to the system is the important element of a systems performance. Increasing a site’s capacity can be as easy as adding a blade into an available segment in a Cubix multi-server chassis. This can be done without interrupting the other operating blades in the chassis.
Flexibility – Using third party load balancing and clustering products, the Cubix Density system is an ideal platform to deploy your highly available distributed server farm. With the capacity to host as many as 8 server blades in 7U (RETMA), it is the ideal platform for deploying multiple server solutions. A Cubix Density system also allows you to mix and match different processor blades in the same system. One blade may only need the performance of single PentiumŪ II processor while another may need the higher performance of dual-processor PentiumŪ III blade. 8 celeronsISP.gif (18124 bytes)

Availability & Redundancy – Where availability is critical, server redundancy is a must. To eliminate single point of failures, a minimum of three server blades is recommended. This allows for a single blade to be serviced offline without interrupting or jeopardizing system operation. Cubix’s multi-server architecture is ideal for building  redundant servers.

In a multi-tiered, distributed server system, multiple server blades are load-balanced to share requests for service. The Density provides as many as 8 industry-standard IntelŪ processor based blades in 7U that are capable of sharing the load. Multiple Density systems may be deployed to build larger server farms as demand increases.  Using third party clustering products, server redundancy can be improved.  Fail-over blades can reside side by side within an Density chassis.

Manageability
– Network servers are often physically located where the support people are not. Cubix’s Density systems can be centrally managed by Cubix’s
GlobalVision™ remote management software for Windows NT environments. Remote management capabilities include hard resetting and power cycling of individual server blades, monitoring fans, temperature, voltages and blade activity.
Space saving design – Cubix’s award winning blade architecture requires as little as 7U (RETMA) of space for as many as 8 server blades. That’s less than 1U per server. Cubix reduces the space required for multiple server solutions. This reduces rack costs, cabling headaches, room requirements, and power needs. All saving you money on the bottom line by reducing operating expenses.
Price/Performance –The Cubix Density multi-server system provides a cost effective platform for building highly available, multi-tiered solutions yielding superior performance for less than stand alone server systems. Cubix systems yield a lower cost of ownership from higher reliability, reduced support cost, and faster deployment. With an integrated K/V/M switch, shared floppy and CD-ROM drives, and built-in environmental monitoring and alarms, Cubix reduces peripheral costs while offering features others charge extra.
