ERS/FT Backplane
Each slot on the backplane of the subsystem is equipped with a +5vdc eight amp fuse. These fuses are constantly monitored by the IES. If the IES detects that a fuse has lost power, an alarm is generated to the BC Supervisor.
On the ERS/FT, since groups may be turned off independently of one another, an alarm will be generated only if a slot loses power while power to its group is turned on.
Table A-1 shows how the ERS FT ISA Subsystems can be organized for the various combinations of ISA slot configurations.
Slots 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 9&10, 11&12, 13&14, and 15&16 are electrically connected together.
* Slot 16 is nearest the power supply.
Å This symbol means a shunt can connect adjacent slots.
WARNING: The 8x2 Fault Tolerant ISA Backplane should not have more than 8 slots connected together to form a single group.
